Premier League 2020

In 2005, introduced by Matchroom Sports as the strongest competition in world darts, the premier league is a travelling darts circus all around Great Britain and Europe.

The World’s top four are automatically qualified for the Premier League. In addition, the British broadcaster Sky Sports has two wildcards. The last three places are PDC wildcards. The final list has been announced on the day of the World Championship final in recent years. Since 2019, there is also room for nine Challengers who all play once against a Premier League player in the first nine weeks.

This year the top four is Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross. The wildcards are for Michael Smith, Gary Anderson, Daryl Gurney, Nathan Aspinall and Glen Durrant.

The nine Challengers are John Henderson, Fallon Sherrock, Jonny Clayton, William O'Connor, Luke Humphries, Stephen Bunting, Chris Dobey, Jeffrey de Zwaan and Jermaine Wattimena.

Michael van Gerwen is the reigning champion, he beat Rob Cross in last year’s final.
